Talking About Regeneration

THE latest stage of Home Park’s regeneration is set to take place following Saturday’s big Sky Bet League One game at home to Peterborough United.

Argyle have, this week, instructed its preferred construction partner, GL events UK Ltd, to begin clearing the way for the relocation of the Argyle Superstore and Ticket Office to the Devonport end of the ground.

The new Superstore and Ticket Office will be situated behind the iconic art deco turnstile entrances and will become operational during the summer. The building has been ordered and is being constructed off-site before being dropped in as a completed unit.

As part of the site-clearance process, some necessary diversions of utilities will be included in a preliminary package of works that will begin in advance of the main work.

Argyle Chairman James Brent said: “We’re delighted to announce that we have instructed GL events to start on this first package of works.

“Proceeding with these ensures that our aim of having the new Mayflower grandstand ready for the start of the 2019-20 EFL season will be achieved.”

The Police Control Centre, currently operating out of a room alongside the Chisholm Lounge at the Barn Park end of the ground, will also be moving to the Devonport end.

Argyle Head of Operations, Jon Back, Argyle’s Project Manager for the rebuild, said: “There has been an enormous amount going on behind the scenes for several months, involving many people, which allows us to begin work straight away now that the initial contract is live.”

GL events UK - www.glevents.co.uk- provides complete temporary infrastructure and overlay for live events around the planet. Its in-house stadium construction and redevelopment team specialises in the design and build of permanent and temporary solutions for stadia in the UK and throughout the world.

The ongoing Home Park work means some modification of the Argyle internet will take place on Monday, April 9. Consequently, the Superstore and Ticket Office will be closed from 9-11am.

As ever, we will keep supporters up to date with all the latest news as the club goes through its exciting transition.
