Academy Shake-up
THE Argyle Academy has undergone a small reshuffle.
Kevin Hodges has become Academy Director with Phil Stokes stepping up to the position of Academy Manager. Phil will continue as the Lead Development Phase Coach predominantly overseeing the under-14s, 15s and 16s.
Shaun Taylor remains as Professional Development Phase Coach with the under-18s while Kevin Nancekivell, who recently completed his EUFA Pro Licence, is Head of Academy Coaching.
Former Argyle apprentice James Bradley has joined the team, taking responsibility for the under-12 and under 13 teams, while Dan Greenough will now have sole responsibility of the Centres of Excellence.
“James will oversee those two age groups as he has progressed and developed his skills as a coach over the last few years,” said Hodges. “It also helps him having been through the experience of an apprenticeship so he knows what is required and what the short falls are.”
“Our Centres of Excellence are an important part of our recruitment and Dan will link in with the newly-appointed Recruitment Officer Chris Harrison to enhance the programmes they deliver.”
Alex Booth has joined the Academy as Lead Sports Scientist, whilst Lewis Borlase heads up the Video Analysis unit and continues to provide quality data for the coaches and players to refer to.
“We as an Academy want to develop and progress and we are now in a position make these changes after receiving the sanction of the full board and technical board,” said Hodges.
