Special Sarce
ARGYLE manager Derek Adams has no doubts about the impact on the Pilgrims of the suspension of midfielder Antoni Sarcevic.
“It’s a big blow,” said Derek, “because he’s a big player for us.”
Sarce earned a three-match ban after being dismissed for violent conduct following a clash with Scunthopre United forward Paddy Madden midway through last Saturday’s 4-0 defeat by the Iron.
His influence in the centre of the park will be missed in this Saturday’s Sky Bet League One visit to Walsall, as well as subsequent home matches against Milton Keynes and Blackpool.
Derek said: “He can play in a sitting midfield role or an attacking midfield role. I made him captain in pre-season because I believe that he’s a vital player for us.
“At his age – he’s his mid-20s – we have got high hopes for him for this season.”
