Ladies Score an Oggy
The club’s women’s teams are following in the studmarks of Derek Adams’ Sky Bet League One Pilgrims and being sponsored by the Westcountry-based food giants.
The Ladies, whose first team plays in the FA Women’s Premier League South West Division One and whose development team plays on South West Women’s Football League Western Division, will wear the famous Ginsters logo on their shirts.
Ginsters Managing Director Kieran Hemsworth and Argyle chief executive Martyn Starnes sealed the two-year deal, which runs in conjunction with Ginsters’ sponsorship of the men’s team, at Home Park this week.
Kieran said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Plymouth Argyle Ladies Football club for this season and next.
“It’s been fantastic to see the growth of women’s football over the years and the success that has been achieved to date.
“We hope that our sponsorship goes some way towards helping our local Ladies team build on their success in the future.”
Argyle chief executive Martyn Starnes said: “We thank Ginsters for their generous support in extending their sponsorship agreement to the Ladies team, further embracing the Argyle family and awareness of women’s football.
“Their valued support will go a long way in assisting the Ladies with kit and pitch-hire requirements for the next two years.”
Argyle Ladies chairman Chris French: “We are delighted and extremely grateful to Ginsters for sponsoring both of our teams this season.
“Over the past 18 months, the relationship between the main club and Ladies club has been becoming stronger and stronger.
“This partnership with the club and Ginsters shows the intent of working together to create teams that compete and represent Plymouth at the highest level in their respective games.”
Argyle Ladies first team are at home to Brislington on Sunday at Elburton Villa’s Haye Road. Kick-off is 2pm.
