Shrewsbury v Argyle - Pilgrim Punting
1st May 2015
TO be absolutely sure of reaching the Sky Bet League 2 play-offs, Argyle need a point at Greenhous Meadow - but maybe you fancy us getting all three?
League sponsors Sky Bet have valued Argyle at 4/1 to bring three points home from Greenhous Meadow, with a draw priced at 11/4 and a Shrewsbury win at 4/6.
With Reuben Reid out tomorrow, John Sheridan has options of who to draft into the forward line. However, many of those options are rather skinnily priced.
Instead, take a look at the other end of the market where, with Argyle being underdogs for the match, there is some great value to be had. Any of Bobby Reid (28/1), Anthony O'Connor (40/1) and Carl McHugh (50/1) look to be hugely overpriced for the first goal.
Argyle have kept eight clean sheets away from home in Sky Bet League 2 this season, and a ninth clean sheet is valued at 100/30. Four of those clean sheets have been 0-0 draws and for Argyle to pull off a professional job and confirm their spot in the play-offs, a 0-0 draw is priced at 15/2.
A wise bet may be for a low score prediction, as neither team need to win by a big margin. Under 1.5 goals is priced at 7/4. Furthermore, Argyle have had a goals total of under 2.5 goals 15 times away from home this season, and for a 16th away game with under 2.5 goals you can get odds of 8/13.
That's got to be worth a punt, surely?
