The Only Thing

JOHN Sheridan would like to see his Argyle team play better football as they approach the final four games of their Sky Bet League 2 campaign...
...however, ahead of Tuesday’s crucial visit from AFC Wimbledon, the manager will settle for simply gaining another three points in their push for a play-off position.
He said: “I’d like us to improve possession wise; ball distribution has been our downfall and I feel we’ve got to take care of the ball a bit better.
“If we can play well and have a good performance, even better, but three points - and I keep saying it - is the most important thing and I’ll be telling the players that."
Sheridan believes that the fight for promotion will go down right to the wire and he is keen for his players to keep picking up maximum points to stay ahead of a hungry chasing pack.
He said: “I said ten games ago it will probably go down to the last two games; even the last game. We’ve just got to stay focussed and if we keep winning then obviously we’re going to be in the play-offs.
“There’s not a lot between the teams, we’ve just got to make sure that we can try and perform the way we can.”
