Lee In The Middle
15th September 2014
LEE Collins is the referee for Tuesday night’s Sky Bet League 2 fixture at Home Park against visitors Wycombe Wanderers.
Collins, who hails from Surrey, has officiated over 75 league and cup fixtures since making his refereeing debut in 2011.In his two appearances in League 2 this season, Collins has shown 14 yellow cards, including ten when Portsmouth met Newport County. In two League 1 games, however, he is yet to issue a single caution.
Lee’s last visit to Home Park was last season’s 1-1 draw with Cheltenham Town, in which he booked Curtis Nelson and Conor Hourihane.
It was not his first encounter with former Argyle skipper Hourihane. Lee was the referee when the Pilgrims met Dorchester Town in November 2012, in the FA Cup. Hourihane was dismissed in the ninth minute of that game, receiving a yellow card – his second of the game - for taking a free-kick too quickly. The Greens went on to suffer a 1-0 defeat to the non-league side.
