Bobby the Ref
25th March 2014
THE man in charge of tonight’s Devon Expressway Derby at Home Park is Robert Madley.
With notable Premier League experience, Bobby is based in West Yorkshire and has officiated 22 games across four leagues this season. More notably he has issued eight red cards and 80 yellow cards.
The only previous Argyle game that he officiated was a 1-0 League 1 defeat at Prenton Park against Tranmere in 2010.
His experiences include five Premier League games, an FA cup tie at Emirates Stadium that saw Arsenal overcome Coventry 1-0, and dismissals of Stoke City’s Steven N’Zonzi in a 1-0 loss at Sunderland as well as James Tarkowski in Brentford’s 1-0 win against league-leading Leyton Orient.
Madley has been placed in charge of games that could be said to have ‘derby’ status this season. As well as the aforementioned London clash between Brentford and Oreint, he has overseen games between Chesterfield and Mansfield, Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday and Derby and Leicester.
His assistant referees will be Simon Long and Marc Perry and the fourth official will be Brendan Malone.
