North-East to Weston
ARGYLE have re-jigged their pre-season campaign to play Weston-super-Mare the week before the new Sky Bet League 2 campaign begins.
The Pilgrims last played at Weston two summers ago, when they won 3-1 with goals from Joe Lennox, Ladjie Soukouna, and a Warren Feeney penalty.
The fixture in Somerset replaces the previously scheduled game at Hereford United. The Bulls were a Skrill Conference side at the time the Edgar Street match was arranged but have since been demoted to the Calor League. Consequently, it was felt that they would not be able to provide a suitably high standard of opposition so close to the start of the Pilgrims’ League season.
The Pilgrims will visit the Skrill Conference South side’s Woodspring Stadium on Saturday, August 2 in their last match before they travel to Cambridge United for their Sky Bet season opener.
Prices for the match will be published on the Weston-super-Mare FC website -http://westonsmareafc.co.uk/.
