Player Sponsors – The Benefits
18th February 2014
WE have been very pleased with the take-up on our player sponsorship opportunities this season.
You will have seen, both in our award-winning match-day programme ‘The Pilgrim’ (available for just £3 from a number of sellers on a match-day) and on this website, that every single member of the first team squad and coaching staff have been sponsored for the 2013/2014 season. As one of the benefits of this sponsorship, sponsors are able to claim up to ten tickets for a school or charity of their choice, which is a fantastic way for businesses to interact with schools in their local community, whilst spreading the green word far and wide.
Luke Young, who is sponsored by The Senior Greens, recently popped out with Elaine James to visit Thornbury Primary School to present them with their tickets. The tickets were given to the school’s ‘Always Club’, which is made up of pupils who always display good behaviour and follow the school rules.
The students were able to ask Youngy a range of questions, including how often the squad trains. Luke explained that training took place every morning, but that he and a number of the other players put in extra hours on the training ground because they want to constantly improve. Luke emphasised the power of self-belief and this seemed to strike a chord with the staff, who encourage the students to apply this attitude in the classroom.
Player sponsors are recognised in every edition of ‘The Pilgrim’, as well as on their players profile page on this website. Sponsors are also invited to the popular player sponsors luncheon, where they are presented with their players’ signed and framed first team shirt, whilst enjoying themselves with the rest of the first team squad and management.
If you would like to discuss player sponsorship opportunities for next season then do not hesitate to contact Elaine or James on 01752 302204.
