AFTER winning 3-0 against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, Argyle's players made a gesture to injured forward Deane Smalley.

Deane's season came to an end earlier this month after a training ground tackle left him with cruciate ligament damage to his knee.

He will undergo an operation on the 22nd of this month - appropriately, given his squad number - to repair it.

As the players were doing a lap of appreciation to the sizable Home Park crowd, stand-in skipper Reuben Reid brought out Smalley's number 22 jersey and paraded it to the supporters in a show of solidarity with their stricken team-mate.
