Bournemouth U18s 2 Argyle U18s 2
Argyle's youngsters ended the year by increasing their unbeaten run to five games with this more than useful point away to runaway South West Conference leaders AFC Bournemouth."It was a good and closely fought game in which we had chances to score but still had to come from behind on two occasions," said Argyle Academy manager Kevin Hodges.
With the exception of Dan Rooney who was replaced by Aaron Taylor, Hodges started with the same side that beat Oxford 5-1 in midweek and once again played two up front in what is proving a successful formation.
The Cherries went in to the game 10 points clear of their nearest rivals and all looked good for Carl Fletcher's side as they took a 33rd minute lead. But Argyle had restored parity within two minutes, when a good move down the middle released Ryan Lane to fire low past the advancing goalkeeper.
The score remained the same until the 71st minute when the Cherries broke out of defence to cut in from the right and score past Cory Harvey but once again Argyle levelled, this time after six minutes.
A good ball in from the right flank found substitute Louis Rooney showing good control before firing home from 12 yards.
Argyle: Cory Harvey, Mason Hughes, Callum Hall, Will Sargent, Jordan Bentley (Jeremy Tucker 45), Tom Moxham (Jeremy Tucker 76), Aaron Taylor (Billy Palfrey 78), Jack Calver, Jason Vincent, Alex Fletcher (Louis Rooney 68), Ryan Lane,
