Eddie the Ref
17th April 2014
EDDIE Ilderton is the referee for our Good Friday game away to Bury.
Mr Ilderton originally hails from Tyne and Wear, and our match against Bury will be the tenth fixture which he has refereed this season in Sky Bet League 2.So far, Eddie has dished out 57 yellow cards in his 27 games this campaign; an average of over two per game. Ilderton has sent-off three players – two in League 2 – and all have been for two bookable offences. He has given six penalties.
He has refereed Argyle on four previous occasions. In every game, both teams have scored. However, Argyle have only won one of these games, which took place just over a decade ago, with a 3-1 win at Home Park against Stockport County. Since then, Eddie has only refereed Argyle away games, in which we have drawn two and lost one.
During Mr Ilderton’s most recent fixture with Argyle, he gave us two straight red cards against Oldham Athletic on December 30, 2010. In a 4-2 loss for Argyle, He sent-off Bondz N’Gala after he committed a foul in the penalty area after only four minutes. He also sent Kari Arnason off for violent conduct.
