Pleased With Paul
6th January 2013
KEVIN Nancekivell had nothing but praise for Paul Wotton after the living Argyle legend’s return to action at Port Vale.
Wottsy made his comeback against the high-flying Valiants after a three-month back-injury absence in a holding midfield role, and Nance said: “I thought he was brilliant.“The club needs people like Paul Wotton, especially today. We needed leaders out there.”
The appearance was Wottsy’s 464th in the Green of his home-town club, and he is now three games short of moving up to third on the list of the club’s all-time player appearances.
“He’s been itching to get back into it,” said Kevin.
“He’s been giving me earache all week. He tired a little bit at the end but, for his first game for so long, I thought he did terrific.
“He’s a leader and he epitomises everything about the club: the fight, the passion and the spirit.”
