JOHN Sheridan is calling for his team to keep up the level of football they showed in the 3-1 victory over Cheltenham at the weekend.
The manager is hoping for a similar performance from his side when they play host to Rochdale in Saturday’s Sky Bet League 2 fixture.“The level of performance I want is the level that I saw at Cheltenham and what I saw at Birmingham because I know we can play like that,” said Sheridan.
“That’s what we have to get in our heads, if we can keep that standard up you’ll win more games than you lose.
“We looked a different team and a different outfit and we fully deserved victory but we have to carry this on for next few games.
“It’s about the players going and performing, not just one or two, we need seven or eight on a regular basis and if you’ve them you’ll win.”
The victory at Cheltenham was Argyle’s first of the season, ending The Robins 22 unbeaten home run and Sheridan hopes that the victory can give the team the much needed lift.
“It will give us a lift from the disappointment of the first two league games and the way we played. Everyone was a bit down because we expected to get off to a better start and better performances.
“After a really good away victory and our first of the season, against a good team who were unbeaten at home and the way we played and went about it was the most pleasing thing for me.
“But now is now and it’s a different game. We have to carry on to the next game which is Rochdale. We set our standards out and we have to play at a level which will win us football matches.”
