Argyle Women continued their exciting run of form in pre-season, beating Aberystwyth Town 12-0 at a sunny Manadon on Sunday.
The Greens opened the scoring immediately after kick-off and continued an attacking run until the whistle blew for full-time.
Emily Elliott’s brace, a trialist’s hat-trick, and goals from Ellie Sara and new signing Ella Stephens pushed Argyle’s advantage to seven at the half.
After the break, there seemed to be no signs of slowing down, with Sara scoring a 22-minute second-half hat-trick and Charlotte Whitmore adding two of her own.
After the game, Argyle Women’s Head Coach Ryan Perks said: “I’m delighted with the girls’ performance today. Playing in the heat is not easy, so to be so clinical in front of goal is very pleasing.
“It’s something we highlighted we needed to work on this week in training and to see it work is something we’re all happy with.
“The girls have had a hectic week and wanted to win all three games, and they’ve done exactly that.”
Argyle head back into preparation mode this week, with a trip to Manchester United Under-21s awaiting them on Saturday, 3 August.
