Babcock International

Argyle Community Trust is delighted to announce that international defence company Babcock International Group has come on board as a key sponsor of the new Brickfields Hub.

Through the new partnership, the existing Argyle partner Babcock, with facilities in the heart of Devonport, will sponsor two multi-use rooms and the Hub’s E-sport lounge to help support a large demographic of the local community.

Babcock continues to invest in and support the local area. The multi-use rooms that Babcock are sponsoring will be used as classrooms to support local primary schools and their students by delivering science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) lessons, whilst the E-sports lounge will allow young people to develop digital skills, innovation, and skills for the future.

Their work in the local community and with the Trust is already benefiting many local people, with this additional partnership further strengthening the long-term plan between the two companies. As well as delivering STEM work in schools and, donating Christmas hampers to help fight food poverty, with support from Ginsters and Bidfood, the successful and popular Babcock Community Cup, involving hundreds of school children from across Devon and Cornwall, is also held annually.

It would not be possible to achieve our ambitious plans without the generosity of sponsors like Babcock.

The Hub will provide the access, support, and equipment to reduce health inequalities, promote wellbeing, and become a beacon for local community activity provision for generations through a partnership between some of the leading sports and wellbeing brands in the city – Plymouth Argyle, Argyle Community Trust, Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Albion RFC, and Devonport Community Leisure Limited (DCLL).

Dwain Morgan, Trust Head of Business and Impact, said: “We are extremely happy to have Babcock on board as a key sponsor of our new Brickfields hub. This partnership focuses on investing in the infrastructure in place to make positive change to people’s lives and improve the local community for generations. We are very proud of all the work we’ve already achieved together and look forward to continue to grow the partnership we have with Babcock.”

John Gane from Babcock’s Leadership Team at Devonport said: “It is great that we’ve got such a fantastic opportunity to continue supporting the community and building on our positive relationship with Argyle Community Trust. We look forward to continuing working with them and seeing so many people from our locally community benefit from these impressive new facilities.”
