Wembley Winners Reunion Event at Home Park
A special night is in the offing of Friday, 8 October, when heroes from the Pilgrims’ one and only play-off victory at Wembley will come together for a reunion event at Home Park.
The one-off evening occurs 25 years after Ronnie Mauge’s famous header secured a 1-0 victory over Darlington in 1996, propelling the Greens to the Second Division in front of nearly 45,000 supporters.
Many of the players who played in that never to be forgotten game will be reunited in the Club Argyle lounge at Home Park for an evening of celebration, nostalgia, and fantastic food.
Goalscoring hero Mauge is accompanied by a large number of that promotion-winning side, including Mick Heathcote, Steve Cherry, Mark Patterson, Chris Curran, Paul Williams, Chris Billy and Martin Barlow. Former manager Neil Warnock, currently managing Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship, will also be in attendance.
The evening will comprise of a four-course meal, footage of the Wembley final and celebrations, player interviews and photo opportunities. In addition, there will be an exclusive interview with Neil Warnock, plus a raffle and auction.
