Argyle Named as Emerging Talent Centre
After a successful application, Argyle have been confirmed as an official FA Emerging Talent Centre for the next three years.
This supports all of the continuing work and development of provisions the football club, in particular the Argyle Community Trust are involved in to support the Women’s game.
The successful application means that Argyle will join other clubs in the country to be part of a national network of clubs, pioneered from the top of the English game to enable girls ages 8-16 to have a defined pathway of inclusion, support and development in order for them to enjoy the game to its full extent.
The Football Association define the areas of focus to be:
1. Better accessibility
2. More inclusivity
3. Reducing the impact of early selection
4. More focused investment
5. Providing more appropriate challenges
Argyle Women’s team manager Ryan Perks said: “It’s another step in enhancing our player pathway at the football club and making football more accessible for all players from all backgrounds.
“We hope this will enable us to continue to grow the female game in the southwest and continue to produce players for international call ups in the future.”
